The Rockhill Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1976. We are located on Garrisonville Rd. (Rt. 610) near Lake Arrowhead. We have 2 pumpers, a brush truck, a utility truck, and a tanker.
To become a member, the main thing you have to do is dedicate some time. The basic training is free. Firefighter and EMT schools run a few nights a week for about 4 hours and one 8 hour day every other saturday. Also, as a member, we simply ask that you attend 4 out of 12 monthly meetings (held every third thursday of the month) and join us for duty at least one night a week.
Here at the Rockhill Volunteer Fire Department we also do home response. Home response is when you live near the fire station and a call comes in, you drop what your doing and come to your neighbors call for help.
If you have some extra time and would really like to serve your community, give us a call at (540)752 - 0200. We'd be happy to have you here at "The Rock"!
